THE FRONTIER UKRAINE

Elliott Crawford and John Taylor; Two independent British filmmakers, set out to document the human cost of a devastating conflict within Europe. However they also found themselves at the centre of a very different story, when Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 was blown out of Ukrainian skies by a surface-to-air missile.

The Frontier: Ukraine delves into the social costs, the suffering and the opposing views of people in both Ukrainian and pro-separatist areas of the country. It assesses their beliefs and the political complexities of post soviet Ukraine, revealing the direct consequences of what is effectively a war on Europe’s doorstep.

 

With this film the directors hope to shine a light on the conflict in Ukraine a war whose fallout stems from a deadly confrontation between Russia and the West. Forgotten by most but remembered by those who live through it every day.
